Upholland and District u3a, formed in 2005, is coordinated by a committee elected by the members. We are part of the national u3a (known as the Third Age Trust) but we are an autonomous, self-help, organisation offering educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment.
Our membership is currently around 770. The membership fee is £10 per year plus an admin fee of £2.50 for the first year. You can join as many interest groups as you wish (or you can fit in to your week). Most interest groups make a small charge to cover room rent.
Interest groups are run by the members for the members. We are always looking to expand the type and number of groups (see Interest Group page) and would welcome ideas for new groups. We also have groups that meet just for social events such as days out and theatre trips.
We run a monthly coffee morning on the first Thursday of every month at 10am where potential and existing members can chat to our membership team and group leaders.
Members can also attend speaker meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. Speakers cover any number of different topics
PLEASE NOTE; our u3a is operating under current government guidelines. There are NO monthly meetings taking place until further notice.
