We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month at St.Teresa' hall from 10am to 12am. We charge £2 for tea, coffee and biscuits.
We do not have a group leader as such. Instead we operate as a small committee sharing ideas and responsibilities.
We do our best to provide a variety of speakers about local history, usually very local and sometimes slightly further afield! We get a good response from our members and normally have about 60 at each meeting so we must be getting it right!
Once a year we have a visit to places of interest and in the last few years we have been to the Lewis Carroll church, Norton Priory and last year the former Free Trade Hall in Manchester with special reference to the suffragettes and Peterloo. As the building is now a hotel the tour was followed by afternoon tea which was very popular!
We do not restrict numbers so please feel free to join us any time. Check the newsletter for details.
